I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate and Lecturer in the Sociology Department at Princeton University and affiliated with the Paul and Marcia Wythes Center on Contemporary China and the M. S. Chadha Center for Global India.

My research focuses on industrial policy, state capacity, and infrastructure development in China and India. My work has been published or accepted for publication in peer-reviewed academic journals, including Current Sociology, Asian Survey, and the Chinese Journal of Sociology.

My Ph.D. dissertation, based on two years of fieldwork in China and India, compares railway development and the role of the state in these two countries. My research also examines the structure of Chinese state-owned enterprises in strategic sectors, such as infrastructure.

I am a two-time recipient of the Marvin Bressler Graduate Student Teaching Award from Princeton Sociology. I received my Ph.D. in Sociology from Princeton.

I have done interviews for MIT Technology Review, the Belt and Road podcast, and other media and general audience outlets.

I also write a newsletter on industrial policy, clean technology, and development for a general audience: www.high-capacity.com.
